A Journey with Makula

At 18 years old, Kiibi Edrine stands as a powerful example of resilience, gratitude and determination. He is a focused and hardworking student at Everlight College, with a clear vision for his future; to become an engineer and use his skills to help others.

Edrine comes from a humble background. Growing up, his parents faced significant financial challenges and were unable to fully support his education. As the firstborn in a family of four children, Edrine has always carried a strong sense of responsibility; not only for himself but also as a role model to his younger siblings.

His journey took a positive turn when the Makula Fund for Children stepped in to support his education from Primary school through to where he is today. This support has given him stability, hope and the confidence to dream boldly about his future.

Edrine is deeply thankful for the opportunity he has been given. He often speaks with appreciation about the Makula Fund, acknowledging that without their help, his educational journey would have been extremely difficult. He also recognises the sacrifices and encouragement of his parents, who, despite limited resources, have always believed in him.

This year, Edrine is especially determined to study hard and excel academically. His passion for engineering is fueled by a desire to give back since he dreams of one day using his knowledge and skills to solve problems, support his family, and uplift others in his community.

“I am very thankful to the Makula Fund for helping me from primary until now,” Edrine says. “My parents did not have the money, but now I am able to continue with school. I promise to work hard so that I become an engineer and help others in the future.”

A Heart Full of Gratitude, A Future Full of Promise

Edrine also shares a heartfelt wish that the Makula Fund continues to have the same generous heart in helping other children who are struggling, just as he once did. His story is not just one of receiving help, but of preparing to give back.

With discipline, gratitude, and unwavering focus, Kiibi Edrine is steadily building a future filled with purpose. His journey reminds us that when a child is supported, an entire generation benefits.
