A Journey with Makula
At 14 years old, Mukisa Charlyn Jemimah is a young girl full of creativity, faith and promise. With a gentle spirit and a love for expression, Charlyn is already discovering her voice; both in the classroom and through music.
Charlyn recently completed Primary Seven at Lion of Judah Elementary School and is currently awaiting her results as she prepares to transition to secondary school. English is her favourite subject, a reflection of her love for communication, expression and storytelling. Beyond academics, she has a deep passion for singing, arts and crafts, activities through which she joyfully expresses her creativity and faith.
In May 2025, Charlyn joined the Makula Foundation at a time when her education was under strain due to challenges with school dues. The support she received came as a great relief; not only easing the financial burden, but also restoring hope and stability during a critical stage of her academic journey.
“I am grateful to Makula for the opportunity they have given me,” Charlyn shares. “It has helped me continue with school and believe in my future.”
A Dream Rooted in Worship and Inspiration
Charlyn dreams of becoming a gospel artist, inspired by worship music and gospel voices that lift hearts and glorify God. She admires artists such as Chandler Moore, Pentatonix and Uganda’s own Judith Babirye, whose music reflects faith, excellence and purpose. Through gospel music, Charlyn hopes to inspire others, share God’s love and use her voice as a tool for encouragement and healing.
Her journey with Makula has strengthened her confidence and affirmed her belief that her dreams are valid and achievable. With continued support, guidance and faith, Charlyn is preparing to step into secondary school with renewed determination and hope.
With her love for English, creativity in the arts and a heart set on worship, Mukisa Charlyn Jemimah represents the beautiful potential that emerges when young people are supported at the right time. Through Makula and its sponsors, her voice is being nurtured and her future is unfolding with promise.
Congratulations to Mukisa Charlyn Jemimah, our Child of the Month for January 2026!
