CHILD OF THE MONTH- JUNE 2025: LETITIA KULABAKO
“Resilience, Hope, and a Bright Tomorrow”
Age: 20 years
University Student
Dream: To become a CEO for her own company
At just 9 years old, Letitia’s life took a turning point when her mother, struggling to make ends meet after a separation, heard a radio announcement about bursaries for children. With faith and courage, her mother applied, and Letitia was given a bursary that brought her to Holy Family Primary School.
There, she met the late Sister Annet Nazziwa, a woman of kindness and compassion who saw her potential. When the bursary ended and her mother could no longer afford the fees, Sister Annet stepped in. She connected Letitia to the Makula Fund for Children, ensuring her education would continue.
From Uncertainty to Opportunity
Letitia transitioned to Sacred Heart Primary School, where she found a new family in fellow Makula children. For the first time, she felt secure in her education. No more worrying about being sent home for fees; she had books, a school bag, porridge at break time, and the steady encouragement of Makula mentors.
Her fondest memories include visits from Counsel Hilda, whose presence inspired her and her classmates to dream bigger. In 2017, she met Dr. Hugo, whose support and mentorship have remained a guiding light in her journey.
Today’s Chapter: A Future Leader
Now in 2025, Letitia is a university student at Kyambogo University pursuing a Bachelor of Administrative Science, still under the wing of MAKULA. She is honored by the opportunity that her sponsors through Makula have given her. She has been able to have accommodation in a hostel near the university to better pursue her studies.
She speaks with gratitude and determination, knowing that education is the foundation of her dreams. With resilience forged from early struggles and hope nurtured by MAKULA’s support, she is on her way to becoming a Chief Executive Officer for my own company.
💌 A Message from Letitia
“I will always appreciate every single thing that MAKULA has done for me. It has been more than just support—it has been family, hope, and the foundation for my future. I have never lacked anything while at Makula. Makula has given me all the necessities to facilitate my education. I was given a laptop early this year, and it has eased my work a great deal.”
Congratulations to Kulabako Letitia – our Child of the Month for June 2025.
